About Rita: My name is Rita. I was born and raised in Greece where I grew up in a family of artisan stone workers. Our home was built with stone walls, marble floors, marble counter tops and stone sinks. Even school trips and family outings brought even closer to the beauty of natural stone.  Whether I was  visiting the Parthenon or the exquisite stone cliffs that meet the beach in the town where I grew up, I developed a deep respect for nature’s creations.  I am forever fascinated by the colors that are hidden in the earth.  It’s for this reason that I love my job and stone that we share with our clients.

Favorite Stone: This is like choosing a favorite child – it’s impossible.  There are so many stone choices that I love but today my favorite is Blue Louise.  It’s breathtaking.

Favorite Part of My Job: My favorite part of my job is helping clients select the perfect granite or marble color that will complement their space and add timeless beauty and value to their home. I enjoy the awe people express when they walk through our stone yard and see slabs in colors and patterns they never imagined could be real natural products of nature.

Strengths: While each client is unique my goal is provide an interesting, fun and educational experience.  I excel at organizing the process to insure that we are finding the best design options to fit their budgets.  I enjoy helping my clients get over the initial overwhelming feeling and turning that into a confident final decision.   With my 30 years of expertise in the stone business, I am confident that I can help any clients exceed their expectations for a beautiful floor, kitchen, bathroom, fireplace or accent stone wall design.

Bio: I graduated High School in the United States.  I also obtained a teaching degree in English and taught English in Greece for many years. When I moved back to the U.S. 20 years ago I started my own stone and masonry business.  As a women I have great understanding of home projects and restoration.

Hobbies: My favorite thing to do in my free time is to cook and entertain with friends and family. I especially love summer time when I can have great times in my back yard, swimming and cooking in my outdoor kitchen!

Favorite Project: White Reef granite on dark cabinets blended seamlessly with the ocean view through the huge windows of this kitchen in my customers Queenstown, Maryland home.
